"Soul Man" is an R&B standard composed by Issac Hayes and David Porter and originally released as a single by the singing duo of Sam & Dave in a 1967 recording that hit #1 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart and #2 on the Hot 100. In 1978, it was revived by the Blues Brothers, whose version hit #14 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has been covered by a select group of other artists since then.
"Soul Man" was performed in the second-season Drake & Josh episode "Blues Brothers" during the talent show sequence. The original telecast featured a reprise of the song, but it was replaced on subsequent reruns by a reprise of the series' opening theme (due to copyright reasons such as a clip from the 1980 movie The Blues Brothers).

Lyrics: "Soul Man"
Comin' to ya on a dusty road
Good lovin' I got a truck load
And when you get, it you got something
So don't worry, 'cause I'm coming
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
Got what I got the hard way
And I'll make it better each and every day
So honey, don't you fret
'Cause you ain't seen nothing yet
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man, play it, Steve
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man, ha
Listen, was brought up on a side street
Learned how to love before I could eat
I was educated from good stock
'Cause I start lovin', I just can't stop
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man, ha
Well, grab the rope and I'll pull you in
Give you hope and be your only boyfriend
Yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah)
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
You're a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
I'm a soul man
