Smart Girl (also known as Smart Girls) is the sixth episode of the second season of Drake & Josh.

Synopsis[]

When Drake falls for a smart girl, it's up to Josh to teach him everything he needs to know to impress her.

Plot[]

In the opening comments, Drake talks about how Josh does really well in school and Josh talks about how Drake does really well at everything but school.

At the Premiere, Drake has a quick conversation with Josh about a movie he saw. Drake sees a girl named Michelle who is from Josh's class and the captain of The Academic Team. When Drake steals candy and drops it from the floor, Michelle helps him clean it up and they both meet together. Michelle reveals to Drake as they reveal what movie they saw. Drake asks Michelle if she would like to go on a date with him but she has Academic Team practice.

While Josh is in his room sleeping, Megan puts shaving cream on Josh's hand as Josh puts shaving cream on his head. When Drake comes to the room, he tells to get up and reminds Josh to clean his face. Josh angrily confronts Megan for pranking him. Drake tells Josh that he's going to the movies because he wants to run into Michelle again. Josh wants to get revenge on Megan but he ends up getting glued to the chair thanks to Megan. He angrily gets up and tries to confront her. Back at the Premiere, Drake meets up with Michelle again at the Premiere and ask each other again what movie they saw. Drake's plan for him and Michelle didn't work out again as Drake had hoped. When Drake arrives home, he and Josh have a conversation about Drake's date with Michelle. Josh tells Drake that he has a plan to get revenge on Megan. When the boys arrive at the kitchen, Megan gives Josh the ice pop which causes it to explode much to Megan's delight. Josh is helping Drake with school upstairs as he decided to teach him all the subjects taught at school. Also, Drake has a hard time listening to Josh while Josh is teaching him a lesson. Drake and Michelle finally go on a date together at The Premiere while Josh gives out random answers to him for Michelle.

Drake comes up with a plan and tells Josh to help him at The Academic Bowl. Josh figures out another plan to get Megan by splatting her with a balloon filled with disgusting goo. However, Megan drops a filled balloon with goo on Josh's head from the roof. Drake also figures out Megan's device too. Josh is very upset to Drake and Megan when he was pranked by the two. When Drake confronts Megan for bothering Josh, he decides to tell mom which causes Megan to get in trouble. Then, Drake uses Megan's device he found in the bedroom, as a way to help bribe her in The Academic Bowl. Drake discovers an electrical pen and presses a button that causes Josh to be electrocuted. Josh thinks that Megan pranked him again revealing that Drake was the one that pranked him instead.

Drake competes in the academic bowl with his friends Craig and Eric along with Michelle. He initially gives his team the upper hand, while Josh reluctantly feeds him info through a radio. However, a fast food restaurant interferes with Josh's radio frequency, causing Drake's team to lose points. However, Drake leads the team to victory because of some chemistry knowledge that Josh gave him during the all-night study session. Drake later confesses to Michelle that he is not smart, but Michelle admits that she likes him for who he is.

At the end, Drake meets up with Josh and apologize to each other. Josh asked Drake if he wanted to play GameSphere. However, they got up from the kitchen chairs on behalf of being glued by Megan, followed by Josh's shout.

During the end credits, Drake was thinking about Michelle while he was hanging out with her at The Premiere. At school, Eric says that boys can't be smart, and he tells Michelle that he loves her, which shocks her and Craig at the same time.

Trivia[]

  • The episode title is probably a spoof from the sitcom, Smart Guy.
  • Audrey and Walter do not appear on this episode. Drake mentioned Audrey when he says he's going to tell on Megan for her pranks. Josh mentioned Walter when Drake asks whose dirty laundry it is.
  • This episode and the last three before its' main topic are competing.
  • On Drake's date with Michelle, Michelle mentioned George Doty. George Doty IV is the producer of the show along with Dan Schneider.
  • Lane Napper, the actor who plays the host, appears in Dan Schneider's other shows iCarly and Victorious.
  • This episode appears as a flashback on Peruvian Puff Pepper.
  • It is unknown what happened to Michelle and her relationship with Drake after this episode, but it is presumed that after Drake told her the truth that he's not smart, they're still on good terms with each other.
  • A few clips from this episode are featured in the Season 3 intro such as:
    • Josh sticking his head out the window and a balloon full of goo falls on top of him.
    • Drake kissing Josh on the cheek in the janitor's closet
    • Drake and Josh being glued to the kitchen chairs.

Goofs[]

  • Josh was seen sleeping on the couch, but in the Pilot, he said that he can't sleep on the couch because he has lumbar problems.
    • However, he could have found a solution to those problems.
  • When Josh pours the goo into the red balloon trying to get Megan, he pours goo in the balloon but when he explains to Drake about getting Megan which happens in the first part of the scene. If you look very closely when he's holding the balloon in both hands, you can see that it's not goo at all. It's actually water that's inside the balloon or maybe Josh mixed goo and water together.
  • The host would have had Drake's team disqualified for cheating since Josh was giving Drake the answers.
    • The host should also not have accepted money from a student for any reason.
