Mean Teacher is the eleventh episode of the second season of Drake & Josh.
Synopsis[]
Drake can't break up with his girlfriend because she is the daughter of his teacher who has threatened him with summer school. Josh's new lucky shirt must provide a solution.
Plot[]
In the opening comments, Drake talks about his past dating experiences being unlikely while Josh flips his coin and gets tails every time and ends up putting the coin in his mouth by mistake.
When Drake and Josh are ready for class to begin, Mrs. Hayfer comes in the classroom and hands out the graded essays to the class. She gave Josh a good grade for his story because Josh is very lucky that he doesn't need to take his pop quiz. When Drake also gets his graded essay back with a bad grade, he asks what's wrong with his essay as Mrs. Hayfer told him to write another one. Drake tells Josh that Mrs. Hayfer is very mean to him as Josh knows that she's the nicest teacher at school. Mrs. Hayfer asks Drake a question but Drake gets the answer wrong. She also gives Drake's question to Todd who says Drake's answer meaning it's correct.
At the Premiere, Drake and Kelly are dating together. Drake wants to break up with his girlfriend, Kelly, because of her annoying laughter. Back at home, Megan uses a machine where she puts some tomatoes inside so that way it can splat on Josh. However, the machine malfunctions and does not aim at Josh. When Megan leaves Drake and Josh's room, Drake asked who made a mess in the room. Drake then tells his mom that he wants to break up with Kelly. When Drake goes to Kelly's house to break up with her, he gets surprised by Mrs. Hayfer revealing it's Kelly's mom. Mrs. Hayfer and Kelly come out of the house to have a conversation with Drake. When Kelly goes back in the house, Mrs. Hayfer reveals to Drake that she hates him much to her satisfaction.
At school, Mrs. Hayfer asks Drake to tell his favorite novel. Drake reveals that his favorite novel is "The Catcher in the Rye" but Mrs. Hayfer reveals to him it's wrong again. When the class leaves, a student gives his old video games to Josh explaining that he is no longer allowed to play video games. After he leaves the class, Drake and Josh tag along to leave the classroom, but Mrs. Hayfer stops Drake from leaving. Mrs. Hayfer locks the classroom to have a private conversation with Drake about her daughter Kelly. Mrs. Hayfer threatens to send him into summer school if he breaks up with Kelly. Drake has a dream where he is marrying Kelly at a wedding, while Josh is wearing his lucky shirt inside of his tuxedo. His dream means Drake feared two things: being stuck with Kelly and Josh wearing his ugly lucky shirt forever.
When Josh comes home from school, Megan is making an electric chair prank and tricks Josh into thinking she was doing a school project about a family tree. She gets Josh to sit on the chair, where nothing happens, but Megan drags him to the couch. Megan puts a banana on the chair as the machine would turn the banana black. Josh tells Megan that she can't prank him as he is wearing his lucky shirt. When Drake comes home from school, Drake tells Josh that he might be going to summer school if he breaks up with her. Josh helps Drake figure out a plan to make Kelly to break up with him. During a dinner date, Drake brings him and Kelly a plate of spaghetti while Drake starts acting gross in front of. Kelly, but it backfires because she likes to act that way too, leaving Drake annoyed for the night. Drake still gets annoyed by Kelly's laugh in the bedroom. Josh is ironing his lucky shirt as Josh reveals that his lucky shirt got him in a date by a model who loves video games and magic. Drake decides to wear one half of the lucky shirt when it is ripped by accident when he and Josh argued over who should wear it on a date that Kelly organized with her friend Alison, a model who loves video games and magic tricks like Josh. When the phone rings, the boys hear a voicemail from Kelly as Drake comes out with a plan to break up with Kelly. Drake thinks that Josh's shirt is possessed, but Josh prefers the shirt to be enchanted. The boys have an argument because Drake would like to wear Josh's shirt as they tear up the sleeves of the shirt. At the Premiere, Kelly finds Drake and she breaks up with Drake when he wears Josh's lucky shirt. Drake gives the shirt back to Josh and escapes the theater cheering loudly much to his delight. After that, Josh then goes to a movie with Alison, who kisses him.
At the end, Drake and Josh try to find Josh's lucky shirt but they confront Megan for taking it away from them. Audrey reveals to the boys that she gave Josh's lucky shirt to the donation center. When Audrey and Megan head upstairs, Drake and Josh then decide relax and sit on the couch as they reveal that the shirt wasn't actually lucky.
During the end credits, a homeless man is listening to the lottery on a radio wears the shirt and a ticket flows by him with the winning numbers on it. The hobo then cheers loudly that he is now a millionaire proving that the shirt is actually lucky after all.

Trivia[]
- Walter is absent in this episode, although he is mentioned twice.
- Drake saying, "May the luck be with you" is a reference to the Star Wars series and its famous quote, "May the force be with you."
- OR is a parody of the TV show ER. Ironically, Josh Peck guest starred on an episode of ER.
- Kelly's inappropriate laughter could be linked to the condition of what is known as pseudobulbar affect, which is distinguished by uncontrollable and inappropriate laughter or crying.
- The ending scene with the hobo becoming a millionaire was cut from TV for unknown reasons.
- This episode appears as a flashback on Peruvian Puff Pepper and Dr. Phyllis Show.
Goofs[]
- When Megan loads the tomatoes into her machine, she only loads three tomatoes and when she attempts to shoot at Josh, she shoots five tomatoes, and when Audrey clicks the button again, it shoots another tomato on her face.
- However, it might be that she loaded those tomatoes earlier before we see the scene where she reads the instructions, or they were possibly loaded in the machine themselves.
- Drake could have had Josh break up with Kelly for him instead of facing summer school.
- In real life, a teacher is not allowed to send a student to summer school for a personal and outside-of-school issue.
- Even if Mrs. Hayfer had the authority to give Drake summer school for breaking up with Kelly, it wouldn't mean they'd end up married like in Drake's nightmare, because he could break up with her after he graduates.
- Josh says that on OR, they were doing a colonoscopy on Natalie. However, Mrs. Hayfer says that on OR, she was missing Madeline's colonoscopy.
- However, it could be that the Natalie scene just passed, and Madeline's scene just came on.
- This reveals that Mrs Hayfer has a daughter named Kelly, but why wasn't her dog Tiberius in this episode too? He only appeared in Vicious Tiberius, but never appeared in this episode, furthermore, Kelly never even appeared in Vicious Tiberius when Drake and Josh were asked to look after her house while she's away travelling.
- It's possible Mrs. Hayfer didn't adopt Tiberius yet, and as for Kelly, she could've been living on her own then.
