Little Diva is the seventh episode of the second season of Drake & Josh.

Synopsis

When the Premiere Movie Theater hosts an actual movie premiere, Josh must act as a personal assistant to the film's child star, but she is knocked unconscious just moments before the event.

Plot

In the opening comments, Drake and Josh talk about their experiences with meeting the vice president.

At the Premiere, Drake meets up with Josh and he tells him that he finished his date. Helen (portrayed by Frances Callier) meets up with Drake and compliments him while she dislikes Josh. She announces that Ashley Blake from the movie "Kid President" is coming to the movie theater for the premiere of her new movie. Josh is very excited that he wants to meet her. After Helen leaves, Josh grabs gumball out of the jar and stuffs it in his mouth. Helen comes back and tells Josh that he's not allowed to steal candy. Josh spits out the gumballs out of his mouth and puts it back in the jar, much to his disgust.

Josh is cleaning up at the theater while Helen tells him to keep working. Drake and Megan arrive at the Premiere as Megan tells Josh that she's excited to meet Ashley. When Ashley arrives, Josh thinks that he's the first one to meet him but Helen shows up and pushes him away that she wants to meet her first instead. Drake reads the list to see who's on the list. Josh gives Ashley a water bottle but she spits it out when she tells him to give her another one. Citrus tries to confront Josh what he did to Ashley. When Josh angrily arrives home from work, he has a conversation with Drake that he had enough of Ashley. When Josh decided to take a rest, he opens his backpack filled with green gummy bears. As Josh goes back to work, Ashley finds out that she does not like the movie pictures of her and fires her brother. Helen hires Josh to be Ashley's new assistant. When Josh refuses to be Ashley's new assistant, Ashley calls Citrus to come here as Josh quickly starts dancing.

Josh brings Ashley a new refrigerator while Ashley is on the phone. However, the refrigerator lands on Josh's stomach as Ashley angrily tells him that she wanted a sandwich. When Drake arrives, he tries to free Josh from the dropped refrigerator. Ashley tells Josh that she needs a massage while Drake goes off to give her a sandwich.

When the boys come home tired from The Premiere, they started to fall asleep as Josh would lay down on Drake after Josh gave Ashley a piggyback ride. Ashley and Citrus arrive at Drake and Josh's house while Ashley begins to boss Josh again. Josh was assigned to give Ashley a drink. Megan and Ashley team up to prank Drake and Josh but Ashley accidentally gets hit on the head with a bucket on behalf of showing Megan the bucket over Drake and Josh' door. Dr. Glazer comes to Drake and Josh's house and puts Ashley to sleep until she feels better. He gives the boys a $500 check for putting her to sleep as he ends work. Drake and Josh feel worried and must find a way to get her to the Premiere without making it look like she's asleep and make it to the after-party.

At the end, Drake and Josh take Ashley to the theater and hide her in the trash can. Helen asks the boys where is Ashley but they tell her that she's in the bathroom. The boys reveal to Helen that she's pretending to pray. Drake and Josh take her out of the trash and put sunglasses on her pretending that she's a star. They somehow fool the media thinking that Ashley feels better. The boys put Ashley upfront with a microphone as the crowd would ask her a question as the boys would answer for her. However, everyone is confused why Drake and Josh are helping Ashley and as the boys pretended that she lost her voice. When Drake and Josh leave the theater, they pick up Ashley to the after-party. Drake and Josh finally made it to the after-party for helping out Ashley. As they get ready to leave, they find Ashley in the trash can again. The boys call Citrus while the two leave the theater. Ashley wakes up from her sleep and tells Citrus what was going on with her. When Citrus meets up with a lady, he drops Ashley in the trash can leaving her behind as she would fall asleep again.

During the end credits, Josh was asking Megan why there was a bucket of his on top of Drake's door. The clip also reset to the beginning when Josh asks questions about buckets while Megan answers back with random answers.

• Audrey and Walter were absent on this episode.
• This is the second and last time the opening notes to the theme song, "I Found a Way" are played before the intro sequence. The first time was "Believe Me, Brother".
• This is the first episode written by Eric Friedman.
• This episode spoofs the 1989 film, Weekend at Bernie's.
• According to the tag, it took 4 takes (including the one seen in the finalized episode), with the door and the bucket jokes.
• When Josh introduces himself and Megan to Ashley, he doesn't introduce Drake to her.
• Ashley calls Josh a boob, which is exactly what Megan calls him and Drake.
• This is the only episode where Helen is played by a different actress, Frances Callier, replacing Yvette Nicole Brown, because she was busy filming, The Big House.
  • Brown, however, returned in the episode, Blues Brothers after The Big House was cancelled and aired for six episodes.
• In the intro, Drake and Josh talk about the Vice President of the United States. At the time, the Vice President was Dick Cheney.
• Real life celebrities are mentioned who'll be attending the after party including Adam Sandler, Regis Philbin and Ashton Kutcher. Taran Killam, who played Trevor in the episode "Dune Buggy", starred with Ashton Kutcher in the 2003 romantic comedy Just Married.
• As of August 2024, this episode from season 2 is no longer available on streaming services (such as Paramount+, Netflix, etc.) due to licensing issues with material used in the episode.
• A clip from this episode is featured in the Season 3 intro: Where Josh is spitting gumballs out of his mouth.

Goofs

• When Helen orders Josh he cannot have free candy after putting a few gumballs in his mouth, Josh took them out and put them back in the candy jar. This would be an unsanitary health violation and Josh can get penalized for it by law.
• At 20:40, Josh is supposed to pick up the unconscious legs of Ashley but only gets one. Ashley stiffens her other leg and keeps it aside the one held by Josh.
• Ashley said that it was 7 seconds since she asked for the soy latté, but it was really 10 to 12 seconds.
• When the bucket falls on Ashley, it lands to the right side of the door, but it disappears when Drake and Josh go into their room.
• Drake and Josh arrive home tired from their busy day with Ashley, but she arrives there at night to find Drake and Josh sleeping and continues to order them around. Ashley should not know where Drake and Josh live because they never told her that. It's possible Megan told her since she and Megan are friends.
  • However, Helen could've gave Ashley Drake and Josh's address after they were assigned being her assistant.
• Leaving Ashley in a trash can is grounds for child abandonment.
• It’s unknown how Josh was able to get an autograph from Ethan LaRoche since Josh never heard of him.
• Ashley never tells Drake or Josh what kind of sandwich she wants.
• Pescatarianism is not a religion, but rather a person who eats seafood and not any other meats. Helen and the press obviously do not know this.
  • Drake and Josh probably confused it with either Presbyterianism or Episcopalianism.
