Guitar (also known as Guitars) is the second episode of the second season of Drake & Josh.
Synopsis[]
Drake is ecstatic when he wins tickets to a concert and a guitar autographed by his idol, but Josh accidentally sets fire to the instrument and must find a way of replacing it before Drake finds out. Meanwhile, Walter tries to spend some quality time with Drake, but things don't go as planned.
Plot[]
In the opening comments, Drake and Josh complain about each other's sleeping habits.
Drake has a "party" to try and win tickets to see his favorite band, Zero Gravity. The 9th caller would win. Megan is the 9th caller but Drake persuades her to give him the phone. So, Drake wins tickets to his favorite band's concert, Zero Gravity, and he also gets an autographed Cherry Red Fender Stratocaster signed by the lead guitarist, Devin Malone.
Josh plugs it into Drake's bad amplifier to show Megan how an electric guitar works until the guitar explodes. After the guitar was caught on fire, Josh decided to hide the guitar before Drake comes. After Megan leaves, Drake asked Josh where his guitar was as Josh told him that he put it away.
Josh tries to buy a new one and get it autographed before Drake finds out. Meanwhile, Walter struggles to bond with Drake. Then, Drake finds Josh backstage while Devin Malone signs the guitar. Drake found out about the whole thing, so he wasn't mad. Then, Josh slammed the guitar case closed which jammed Devin's fingers, which meant Devin couldn't perform that night. Josh tells the manager and Devin that Drake's a very good player and knows all of the songs they played. To prove his point, the manager gives Drake a guitar and he plays two of Zero Gravity's songs and are successful. So, Drake performs on stage instead of Devin Malone, the manager for Devin Malone comes to Drake and Josh's house, and he gave Drake money for performing. Drake then gives the money to Josh for thanking him for buying a new guitar. Josh had enough for his tanning bed, and possibly a decent haircut. At the end, Drake then celebrates the life of a Rockstar, but Megan forces him to do her math homework in return for her giving him the 9th call earlier,
During the end credits, Drake and Josh are both singing a song about planets while the man tells them to hang up the phone.

Trivia[]
- Guitar World is clearly a parody of Guitar Center.
- The radio voice is Dan Schneider's.
- This is the only episode where the word suckish is used. The word would also be used in other Schneider’s Bakery shows like Zoey 101, iCarly, Victorious and more.
- This is the only episode we see Drake using a Black Stratocaster instead of the red one he has at the start of the show. Possibly to avoid confusion with the red one he wins later in the episode as they're both red and built based on the same model.
- When Josh claims to Drake that he lost the key to the guitar case after throwing it out the window, a young boy is heard telling his mother that there is a key on the sidewalk. That could possibly be Robbie, the young boy who lives next door to Drake and Josh as seen in the future episodes Josh Is Done and Tree House.
- Josh mentions the tanning bed he was saving up for in the later episode Driver's License when he revealed it didn't work.
- How and why the teacher has Drake’s cell phone number is unknown and never explained.
- This is the second and last appearance of the Rock Shock Concert which returns from the Season 1 episode Grammy.
- As of December 11, 2011. This is the only episode that was from season 2 is no longer airs on TeenNick (due to the Stratocaster name being trademarked).
- This episode along with Pilot, Dune Buggy, Blues Brothers, Driver's License, Number 1 Fan and The Gary Grill are not available on any streaming services due to licensing issues with material used in the episode (likely due to the Stratocaster name being trademarked by Fender).
- This episode appears as a flashback on Peruvian Puff Pepper.
Goofs[]
- When Josh starts looking for the lock in the dresser drawers, he moves the fully open door by hitting it with his arm, which leaves it ajar. Though, right before Drake enters, you can see it's in its original, fully open position.
- The competition claims that the winner will get a vintage fender Stratocaster, yet the guitar that Drake wins and Josh burns down is an entry level Squire Stratocaster standard. Squire (who are owned by Fender) have been making Stratocasters since 1982, but the Standard series was in production between 1999-2019.
- When Josh tries to buy a replacement the store assistant tells him the guitar, he needs is a "cherry red 64 Strat with whammy bar" - which is inferred to be a 1964 Fender Stratocaster as Squire didn't make Stratocasters until the 80's; The guitar in the shop cabinet, which is subsequently featured in the rest of the episode, is also a red Squire Standard guitar, again from the 2000s.
- Being an entry level guitar, the Squire Stratocasters cost about $200 retail, rather than the $1200 price tag in the episode.
- Fender and Squire both call the red color "Fiesta Red" rather than "Cherry Red" as it is called in the episode.
- It is a little strange that Josh did not instantly know the name of the eighth planet, as he is generally very knowledgeable.
- If you count, it took 10 seconds for them to answer the question.
- The teacher would've gotten in serious trouble for having Drake's number.
